Throughout his journey, Andrew has held the position of Transport Manager on Operators licences in both Freight and Passenger Transport, demonstrating his ability to navigate complex logistical challenges. His expertise has been sought by a diverse range of companies, from small-scale sole traders to global industry giants. Andrew’s consultancy firm, A S Miles Consulting, has provided invaluable insights and guidance to organizations across the United Kingdom, Europe, Scandinavia, and the USA. He has worked with companies boasting turnovers ranging from tens of thousands to hundreds of billions of pounds, operating in both the Public and Private sectors.

Before venturing into consultancy, Andrew’s dedication to public service led him to serve as a Traffic Officer with Derbyshire Constabulary, where he honed his skills in handling critical situations and developed a deep understanding of traffic management and road safety.

Andrew’s commitment to professional development is evident through his numerous certifications. He holds CPC qualifications in both Passenger and Freight Transport. He diligently pursues continuous learning and regularly completed refresher training covering all aspects of his qualifications. This helps Andrew ensure his skills remain up to date and align with industry best practices.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, a Member of the Society of Operations Engineers, a Member of the Institute of Road Transport Engineers, and a Member of the Institute of Directors. Andrew’s dedication to process improvement led him to become a qualified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt practitioner, further enhancing his ability to optimize operations and drive efficiency.

Andrew’s auditing experience encompasses internal audits related to company affairs, investigative audits in criminal investigations, and adherence to client standards for international corporations. Andrew is well-versed in international standards and is qualified as a Lead Auditor for ISO 9001:2015. Furthermore, he serves as a DVSA Approved Auditor for the Earned Recognition Scheme.

Recognizing the importance of knowledge transfer, Andrew Miles has embraced teaching roles. He is an RTITB Master Driver CPC Instructor and a trained trainer for the delivery of CILT Transport Manager refresher training, OLAC training, and a CILT Subject Matter expert for Transport Manager CPC courses in both Road Haulage and Passenger Transport. Andrew’s passion for imparting knowledge and fostering professional growth has made him an invaluable resource for aspiring transport professionals.

Andrew is actively engaged in industry associations and councils. He holds a prominent position as the sole Transport representative on the CBI SME Council, lending his expertise to influence policies and advocate for the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises. Additionally, since 2018, he has been an active member of the Logistics UK Greater London Freight Council, contributing to the advancement of logistics and freight transport in the region. Andrew’s dedication to professional development and contribution to the industry led him to become a Liveryman, Court Assistant, and Warden to two of the City of London livery companies the Worshipful Company of Carmen and The Worshipful Company of Management Consultants. Andrew is also a member of the Richmond Group of Consultants.
